New Grace of Tides- Rear View

"Grace of Tides" was from a lecture that I listened to by Fr. Mike Schmitz. As I recall it, he spoke about facing extended periods of difficult times in our lives, when it can feel like we are trying to push a heavily laden boat through the sand in a situation where our life depends upon it. We can labor intensely, day after day, struggling with our burdens only to wind up gaining seemingly little ground for all of our efforts. This can often go on for extended periods of time until we eventually feel like there is no hope and no help to be found. But then God sends in the tides, lifts our burdens up, and suddenly we are carried forward with very little struggle. It's those times in which we can appreciate, what he termed, "The Grace of Tides".
